TWO drivers were fined and given points on their licence after being spotted using mobile phones while travelling on Dorset Roads.
Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team said they generally do not see many motorists on their phones anymore, however, they continue to take action against those they do spot.
During one shift last week, officers witnessed two drivers in Winterborne Whitechurch and Fleets Lane, Poole, respectively, committing this offence.
A spokesperson for the team said: "The first driver was ringing his wife, to let her know he was going to be five minutes late. The second driver was talking into and listening to automatic directions to Creekmoor, again only five minutes away.
"We wish drivers wouldn't take the risk and concentrate on the road.
"We will continue to deal with any offences we witness to keep the roads safe.
"£200 and six points is still the fine for this offence."
