A concert pianist has raised more than £3,000 for charity through his lockdown concerts.

Jonathan Delbridge of Crewkerne has been giving regular concerts during lockdown using Facebook live and is donating the money raised to various causes.

Determined to continue to provide audiences with live piano music, Jonathan gave his first Facebook live concert on Friday, March 27 and since then he has continued to entertain online audiences every Friday morning at 11am for around half an hour.

The programmes have featured requests from listeners and a highlight was the special VE Day concert on May 8 which raised more than £700 for the Royal British Legion.

Jonathan has used these concerts to support various charities including NHS Charities Together and Somerset Community Foundation and has now raised a total of more than £3,000.

Jonathan said: “I am very grateful to all those who have listened to these concerts and given so generously. It's been wonderful to read people’s comments on the live broadcasts and receive their requests."

On Friday June 12, Jonathan performed his final Friday morning concert, but he will continue to provide live online music until concerts in venues can resume.

“Many people are now beginning to go back to work and shops are reopening so it seemed a good time to look at the future of these concerts,” Jonathan said.

“Online concerts will continue but they will be provided at different times of the day so that hopefully as many people as possible can still listen."
