A non-profitable environmental foundation in Bournemouth are to host weekly beach clean-up starting this Sunday.
Coacoara Foundation, who have received over 100 responses to their scheme, will start at 9am from Jazz café on Sandbanks seafront on Sunday June 14.
Founder of The Coacoara Foundation Liam Royce Ulla said: “We are all local and strongly passionate about where we live and the damage that plastic is causing, to not only our beaches and oceans but our planet.
“Since announcing our beach clean, we have had a brilliant response with over 100 people signing ups, which we feel is an incredible way for our community to all come together for such a great cause.
“We are taking all social distancing measures very seriously, whilst supplying litter pickers and compostable bin bags.”
The charity have started a petition to stop littering on Dorset beaches by asking to implement more bins and signage as well as compostable bin bags available to the general public.
