POLICE patrols have been ramped up in Swanage town centre following a series of anti-social behaviour incidents.
Officers from Purbeck Police said they have received reports of youths jumping from the pier and expensive timber that was for the ongoing restoration of the pier had been thrown into the sea.
Posting an update for residents on Facebook on Thursday night, a spokesperson for Purbeck Police said: “Swanage town patrols, in light of recent incidents. Local youths were reportedly jumping from the pier.
“It was also reported that a number of pieces of expensive timber, donated to the trust for the ongoing restoration of the pier have been thrown into the sea. This is criminal damage.
“This sort of behaviour is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.”
