BOURNEMOUTH'S Denise Mellor clinched the WIKBA Intercontinental Mini-Flyweight Thai Boxing title after a stunning performance against Las Vegas star Patti Teran.
Mellor, who was beaten by Teran last year just eight weeks after giving birth, took the bout to the American from the opening bell and took the victory on points after a hard-fought five rounds.
Mellor said: "I trained hard for this and at no time during the fight did she actually hurt me.
"That gave me the confidence to press forward even stronger each round."
Elsewhere in the Battle in Bournemouth event, which was held at the Carrington House Hotel, WKA champion Ian Squire edged out Woking's Joe Coleville and Dorset's Harry Baker and Bernie Mendieta took a draw and a defeat respectively.
USA Fight Girls winner Kerry Vera narrowly lost out to world champion Julie Kitchen, while local Sukhothai academy juniors Danny Whitelock and Peter Mallon both lost their British Junior bouts.
