Former British champion Richard Carr from Poole has proved his powerboat racing prowess across the Atlantic by winning his second race and second title in America.

Throttleman Carr and his driver Paul Sinclair steered their 39ft Skater monohull HoneyParty.com' to victory in the 12 lap race at the Lake of the Ozarks meeting in Missouri to become the new OSS Vee Extreme Class National Champions.

They followed this up with the OSS World Championship title at Destin in Florida reaching speeds of up to 145mph thanks to the power of their 1100hp Chief supercharged engines.

Hopes of a third title were dashed when their boat hit technical problems and couldn't race in Key West.

The duo have been using the American campaign as a warm-up for the 2008 P1 World offshore Championships.

"This is a tremendous win for the team and we are ecstatic about becoming both World and National Offshore Super Series champions, " said Carr.

"The American races have been a great opportunity for us to hone our skills. We are of course disappointed that we were unable to race in the Offshore PowerBoat Key West World Championships, due to technical difficulties, although we are confident that the boat will be ready for the P1 championships next year."
