A YOUNG girl from Manswood, Wimborne has decided to cut 18 inches off her hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust.

Arya Coda, aged five, has used her time in lockdown to learn about things beyond the classroom which includes the Little Princess Trust.

Arya's mum Jodie explained: "Arya is always looking over my shoulder and she saw I was looking at the Little Princess Trust on Facebook. She was interested so I explained why they needed wigs and why some people don't have hair, which is when she said 'I can share my hair'.

"Arya always wants to do things for others, she is a very giving person."

With long hair wigs in demand, this is the perfect time for Arya to fundraise and donate.

Once she has raised the £550 required to make a wig for the charity, Arya will have her first haircut and treatment in their local hair salon once it reopens.

Jodie said: "For Arya, her hair is everything and she is known for it. She was worried that people wouldn't recognise her. But she knows how important her hair is to her so wants to help make a realistic and well made wig for others.

"All the family has been so supportive and I'm proud of her."
