POLICE stopped a driver travelling 129mph on the Puddletown bypass.

Dorset Police No Excuse officers followed the car for 1.5 miles before they could safely stop him.

When stopped, the driver of the Jaguar F-Type said: “I’ve only just bought the car and wanted to see what it would do above 70.

“I need my licence as a key worker.”

A post on the Dorset Police No Excuse Facebook page said: “Another reckless, thoughtless, inconsiderate driver reported to court.

“We are appalled to witness such dangerous, inconsiderate driving.

“We want people to enjoy themselves and arrive safely.

“He now realises the seriousness of his actions.”
