ONLY one new death linked to Covid-19 has been reported by NHS trusts in Hampshire.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust revealed that a patient who had tested positive for coronavirus died on May 22.

It means a total of 574 deaths in Hampshire have now been linked to Covid-19.

Four other trusts - University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), Solent NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - have reported no new deaths.

It means their figures have not changed since the previous statistics were released yesterday.

At UHS, the total of 181 patients have died after testing positive for coronavirus, while at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust there have now been 152 deaths.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 17 patient deaths, while at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust the figure is 222.
