QUEEN'S Park is a lovely open space and golf course which members of the public and golfers have to share with respect for each other.

I emphasize the word SHARE, for in my experience the number of dog walkers and runners who blatantly and without any thought for others selfishly walk down the middle of fairways and across greens has increased to a ridiculous level.

I appreciate that not everyone is "golf aware", but some of these people have deliberately walked down the middle of fairways when players are clearly playing that hole, putting themselves at risk and basically saying tough luck to golfers!

I have seen dog walkers many times either allow their dogs to walk across and even foul the greens with no consideration whatsoever or respect for common courtesy, and then take offence when it is kindly pointed out to them that perhaps they should walk a different path or keep their dogs under control.

Some have up to five dogs with them. How do they control that?

Recently a jogger ran the full length of the first fairway at QP to the utter dismay of golfers waiting to tee off ,and in full view of the golfers who were calling to him, turned around and proceeded to run back down the fairway towards the hole.

You do wonder at times what planet some people are on, but please, all us golfers ask is that we have respect for each other and some politeness in this wonderful open space we share.
