WARM weather is set to return this week – and temperatures could reach the mid-20s.

Local weather enthusiast Dorset Sun said the upcoming warm spell of weather would be “probably the best week of the year so far to come”.

According to the Met Office, temperatures are set to peak at 25C on Wednesday in Bournemouth with UV levels expected to be high or very high throughout the week.

Dorset Sun said: “Probably the best week of the year so far to come. Plenty of sunshine with highs in the low to mid 20s, light winds and almost no threat of rain. Southern England is the European hub of high pressure, glorious!”

The Met Office said the warmer weather will develop as a result of the jetstream which will cause high pressure to build and temperatures to rise.

Last week the leader of BCP Council urged residents who visit the beach and find it’s “too busy” to “head home” after thousands flocked to the beaches.

Councillor Vikki Slade asked people to ‘think twice’ if the beach becomes busy, while people from outside the area are being asked not to visit for now.

BCP Council has been reopening some of its public toilets and residents are advised to carry their own wipes and hand sanitisers.

Signage is in place advising beach users to keep to the two-metre social distancing.
