FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at Holton Heath this afternoon.
A crew from Poole attended after the emergency service was called at 12.19pm.
Around 300 square metres of heathland were alight.
The firefighters extinguished the blaze in a wooded area using two main lines, with the stop message coming through a 2.42pm.
The crew have remained on scene damping down to limit the risk of further fires.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the cause of the fire is not yet known at this stage.
Ken Adams spotted smoke coming from the area behind Holton Heath industrial estate and called 999 after locating the fire.
He said: "It was blowing towards the industrial estate. The fire crew arrived and found where it was and started dealing with it."
The incident comes as fire crews continue to contain and control the scene at Wareham Forest following the major heath and woodland fire earlier this week.
