POLICE have appealed for help to trace a man wanted in connection with burglary and theft offences in Bournemouth.

Michael Matthew McGowan, 49 and of no fixed address, is wanted in connection with a burglary in Leydene Avenue on Monday November 4 and a theft in Old Christchurch Road on Friday November 29.

He is described as white, around five feet six inches tall and of slim build with short dark brown hair.

Police Constable Jack Cornick, of Bournemouth police, said: “We have been carrying out a number of enquiries to try and locate Michael McGowan but these have so far been unsuccessful.

“I would urge anyone who has information as to his whereabouts, or who sees a man matching the description given, to please contact us.

“While we have no information to suggest he poses a risk to the public, I would urge anyone who sees McGowan not to approach him but to immediately contact Dorset Police on 999.”
