A RETIRED police officer was found dead in the bathroom at his home in Verwood.
David Williams, 70 of Haywood Close, was found by his wife bleeding heavily and was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics, a Bournemouth inquest heard.
On May 9, Mr Williams’ wife heard her husband go downstairs in the early hours of the morning.
After hearing noises, she forced open the toilet door and found her husband bleeding heavily.
Paramedics were called and confirmed he was dead at the scene.
A post mortem was carried out which determined the cause of death to be “self-inflicted lacerations to the neck.”
The inquest has been adjourned for a review hearing on October 20.
