CROWDS gathered at Tower Park in Poole where a series of exciting events kept everyone entertained.
These came to a climax with a giant It's A Knockout tournament on May 27, 1990.
Thousands watched or took part in some way, each of them enjoying the gloriously sunny bank holiday weekend.
On streets around the area, crowds were entertained by bed pushers, lorry pullers, jugglers, acrobats and clowns.
The exploits were part of the Telethon '90 fundraising effort – a 27-hour event organised by the ITV which raised more than £24 million for charity.
