A DRAMATIC police chase on bicycles led to officers seizing thousands of pounds and evidence relating to a drug dealing operation.

The incident began when an officer spotted two suspicious teenagers cycling through Hordle on Saturday afternoon.

Acting Sergeant Wood launched a pursuit on his bike after suspecting them to have illegal drugs in their possession.

This sparked a mile-long chase along Ashley Lane and Silver Street. A member of the public helped slow the teens down with their vehicle before one of them turned down Agars Lane, which allowed AS Wood to catch up with him and remove the teen from his bike. A drug search found a small amount of cannabis and several hundred pounds in cash, all of which was seized.

The other teenager was located not long after by response officers based in New Milton. He was searched, with similar items being found.

Both teens were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.

The teen arrested by the response officers had evidence of drug dealing at his home address, with this being seized to assist the investigation into the offence.

The teen arrested by AS Wood had his home address searched by officers and a large amount of evidence concerning cannabis dealing was located. In total, nearly £2600 worth of cash was seized from the teen.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.

AS Wood said he wanted to thank the unknown member of the public who helped slow the teenagers down, enabling him to catch up. This driver is asked to contact Lymington Cops as they wish to recognise their assistance.
