THE government is reporting that there is a "high availability" of coronavirus test slots today at the only site in Dorset.

As reported, the drive through test facility at Creekmoor park and ride in Poole was made operational over the weekend.

Test slots can be booked online through a government portal.

These are currently available to:

  • All essential workers including NHS and social care workers with symptoms
  • Anyone over 65 with symptoms
  • Anyone with symptoms whose work cannot be done from home (for example, construction workers, shop workers, emergency plumbers and delivery drivers)

The government said they will also test anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus that lives with those identified above.

This morning (April 29) the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) posted on Twitter: We've expanded eligibility for coronavirus tests. More info: https://gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested

"There is currently high availability of tests today in: Brighton, Bournemouth, Bristol, Ebbsfleet, Exeter, Gatwick, Hull.

"Book online: https://self-referral.test-for-coronavirus.service.gov.uk/test-type"

While the DHSC referred to Bournemouth for the test site in Dorset, a spokesperson has confirmed to the Daily Echo that this is the designated town name being used for the Creekmoor park and ride facility.
