A DORSET disability charity has launched a new fundraising campaign to help boost morale and encourage people to get into gardening by sending flower seeds to those currently social distancing by.

The aim of Diverse Abilities’ initiative, called #GrowTogether, is to help spread positivity and keep people connected, as people can send these packs to parents, friends and neighbours.

Participants in the scheme can also decide to send flowers to someone they do not know, and the charity will distribute them to local care homes, as well as the people supported by Diverse Abilities.

Corporate fundraiser Naomi Richards said: “Our #GrowTogether campaign will not only help us to continue to support the vulnerable people who access our services through raising vital funds, but it will also allow us to bring a little seed of hope and spread colour to the lives of those currently being told to self-isolate and practice social distancing in order to keep safe.

“We’re looking forward to everyone sharing their progress pictures on social media through the #GrowTogether hashtag.”

The seeds, which can be purchased for £5.75 including postage, include an uplifting poem for the recipient.
