A FOSTER carer from Runcorn has revealed himself to be the man behind a hit online karaoke video that’s been shared more than 3,000 times.

Dave Osbourne was featured on MailOnline for singing Labi Siffre’s 1987 chart-topper ‘Something Inside So Strong’.

And now Dave, who has sung across the North West, Yorkshire, and Wales, has been booked by a Middlesbrough restaurant that is feeding key workers to sing a set for NHS staff on a special night to thank them when the lockdown is lifted.

He also plans to sing to the nation for another full hour at 3.30pm on Saturday, April 4, which will be streamed live on Facebook.

Dave said: “I’m doing it to spread some positivity during this current crisis, to boost morale and spirits, and to say a big thank you to NHS staff and other key workers who are still going into work and risking their lives each day to keep the country going.” “It’s a wonderful feeling doing something so positive for my community and people across the nation.”

Runcorn and Widnes World:

The 49-year-old became a foster carer with wife Tina, who was adopted herself, because they wanted to provide a loving home and security to children who might otherwise end up in residential care.

The couple added: “We are currently fostering two 6 year old boys – it’s so rewarding making a child feel wanted and seeing them bloom and smile again.

“It’s at times of uncertainty like this that you realise just how important it is to take on a role like this.”
