DORSET residents once again took to their doorsteps, gardens and streets to celebrate NHS staff, carers and key workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

For the second week running, Clap For Our Carers took place at 8pm on Thursday.

There were wonderful scenes outside Poole Hospital where firefighters and police clapped and sounded their sirens as a thank you to NHS workers.

Crews from Westbourne Fire Station were among those who attended, and they took to Twitter to share footage of the emotional moment.

While outside the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, a massive screen was left outside on a trailer with the message "thank you NHS".

Echo readers also joined in with many people sharing videos on the Bournemouth Echo’s Facebook page.

People said there were fireworks going off and even boats getting in on the action at Poole Quay.
