LLANDUDNO lifeboat will remain operational and ready to respond to emergency calls during the coronavirus crisis.
But normal training for lifeboat and launching crews has been be suspended.
Capt. Marcus Elliott, Llandudno lifeboat operations manager, said: “‘Due to the restrictions on activity required in response to the coronavirus, normal training exercises at Llandudno lifeboat station have been suspended.
“Our volunteer crew are, however, still on call at all times and remain ready to respond to any marine emergency and to fulfil their role of saving lives at sea.
“Active fundraising events have obviously been postponed. The volunteers at Llandudno lifeboat are very grateful for the fantastic support given in the past by the people of Llandudno and hope to re-engage with you all in the future’.
“The RNLI’s priority is keeping people safe in the sea and around our coast as it always has been. At a time when emergency services are already stretched, we ask everyone to follow government advice. The RNLI is asking everyone to carefully consider the need to go to visit the beach, the coast or go into the water in case they get into difficulty.”
