DORSET residents took to their doorsteps, gardens and balconies last night to show their support for the NHS during the coronavirus crisis.
The nation took part in a massive round of applause at 8pm last night to celebrate the NHS staff putting themselves on the front line to save lives.
Many of our local neighbourhood policing teams have been sharing footage and pictures of the emotional moment while out on patrol last night.
Poole Police shared footage of officers and members of the public clapping, cheering and beeping their horns in tribute to the incredible NHS workers.
Landmark buildings across the country also turned blue to say thank you to the NHS, including the Bournemouth International Centre.
The London Eye, The Tyne Bridge in Newcastle and Blackpool Tower also shone blue.
After the mass applause, the NHS tweeted "that was emotional."
