PRACTICE makes perfect!
These pictures show Oakmead School band rehearsing on March 17, 1990, just days before a big charity concert.
The musical group joined forces with Kingsleigh School band in a display of community spirit.
Pupils aged 12-16 from the two schools, separated by a housing estate, played for parents and friends from both schools in aid of Dr Barnado's.
Then-deputy head Ms Mary Yates said "It's very heartening that two neighbouring schools with such excellent bands have decided to come together. It's encouraged great community spirit and friendship across the estate."
