FUNERALS in the BCP Council area will be restricted to just 10 people excluding the officiant and funeral director.
BCP Council has confirmed services can still take place during the lockdown but with stricter control measures in order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Attendance should be restricted to immediate family members, including spouse, partner, parents, carers, siblings, children and their partners.
Webcasting all ceremonies affected will be offered free of charge, so that those who cannot attend can view the ceremony online, either by live streaming or at a later date.
"BCP Council understands that this decision will impact many people who will be mourning the loss of a friend or family member" said a spokesman.
"This guidance may change again over the coming days and weeks, but for more information about all the changes being implemented, please visit our website
All funeral directors have been advised of this change, so if these changes do affect you, the council urges you to contact your funeral director for further advice. Alternatively, you can contact BCP Council’s Bereavement Services."
