POLICE officers are on the hunt for two men after an elderly woman's home was burgled in Test Valley today.

At 2.30am, the woman woke up to find the offenders in her bedroom, who had their faces covered.

The men stole money from her purse, a number of items of jewellery and a Military Cross medal from the woman's home in Stockbridge.

The medal, which was awarded for acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations, was in a presentation case that was signed by the king.

Now officers are appealing for witnesses who may be able to help them track down the pair.

A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "Perhaps you saw two men acting suspiciously in the area recently, or vehicles which looked out of place?

"Maybe you have been offered or have seen items of jewellery and a Military Cross medal for sale?
