Police have closed the A35
THE A35 was closed in both directions due to a police incident.
The road was shut between the A350 Blandford Road North for Upton and the Bakers Arms roundabout for the A351.
There were reports of heavy traffic out of Lytchett Minster to the A350 and Blandford Road North is slow to Beacon Hill.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 4.35am on Tuesday, March 17, to a report of concern for the welfare of a man on a bridge over the A35 near to Bakers Arms roundabout in Poole.
"Officers attended and road closures were put in place as a precaution.
"The man was brought to safety at around 7.25am and given the appropriate care."
The road was subsequently reopened.
