A MAN has been handed a suspended prison sentence after trespassing in a Bournemouth hotel and stealing a television worth £2,500.
Robbie Lee Lyons stole the Samsung TV from The Carlton Hotel in East Overcliff Drive on January 14, last year.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday, March 9, he admitted a charge of entering the hotel as a trespasser and taking the expensive television.
The 41-year-old was committed to prison for six weeks, suspended for 12 months.
He also admitted stealing two Zara gift cards worth £80 from a man in Bournemouth on March 7, 2020.
Lyons, of Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, was committed to prison for four weeks consecutive to six-week sentence, suspended for 12 months, giving him an overall suspended sentence of 10 weeks imprisonment.
He also pleaded guilty to having a possession of cannabis in his possession in Exeter Road, Bournemouth on March 7, 2020. Magistrates decided to issue no separate penalty for this offence. The cannabis was forfeited and destroyed by police.
