The Gym Poole has reopened following its deep clean after a member tested positive for coronavirus.

The facility closed on Sunday and remained shut throughout Monday as a team deep cleaned.

As of March 9, three people in Dorset had tested positive for the virus.

As well as the Gym Poole, Clarks in the Dolphin Shopping Centre closed as a staff member had a confirmed case, a Bournemouth University student did and a worker from Preston Redman Solicitors also tested positive.

However, The Gym Poole has now reopened and members were sent an email confirming this.

The email sent to members in full:

We’d like to make you aware that The Gym Poole is now open following its closure for a deep clean.

We closed the gym on Sunday following confirmation that one of the members has tested positive for coronavirus.

Following consultation with Public Health England, they have provided a letter containing some guidance and reassurance for The Gym Poole members.

We remain vigilant to government updates and we will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation closely.
