NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch have issued ways to protect yourselves and the community while fears grow surrounding the coronavirus.

They suggested people should meet with their household members, friends and neighbours to discuss what to do in case of a coronavirus outbreak.

If your neighbourhood has a website or social media page, they suggested to join that to stay connected, and consider establishing a buddy system so you can receive support daily.

Plan ways to care for others at greater risk and choose a room in your home which can be used for sick household members.

Create a list of local organisations that you can contact, as well as an emergency contact list of friends, family, neighbours and healthcare providers.

Finally, they are also encouraging people to learn about the emergency operations plan at your child’s school and your workplace.

More information on the coronavirus can be found on the Public Health England website.
