FIREFIGHTERS rushed to rescue a man from a blaze south of Winchester last night.
Crews from Winchester, Eastleigh, Redbridge, St Mary's and Hightown were alerted to a roof fire in Tilden Road, Compton.
Firefighters were called at 7.44pm to the domestic fire, where a 48-year-old man was rescued and treated for smoke inhalation.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "Two pumps, two hoses and six breathing apparatus were used in the fire."
The stop call was at 11.51pm.
