POLICE stopped a driver who admitted to drinking and being on a Tinder date in Downton.

Dorset Police No Excuse received a call that a black Mazda had been seen “swerving all over the road” on the A338 at about 11pm on Thursday night, March 5.

Officers successfully pulled the vehicle over in Westbourne, Bournemouth, and found the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

He told police he had been drinking and was on a Tinder date.

He failed the breathalyser at the roadside and was arrested and taken into custody where he recorded 47 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “The driver will now potentially lose his job as he needs to drive for work, will attend court in the next seven days, and faces a lengthy driving ban.”
