THE RELEASE date for the Christchurch-themed MONOPOLY game has been revealed.

Winning Moves, the company behind the making of the game, have announced that the boardgames will be available from Monday March 23.

The classic card games and board games makers have also released the mock designs of the boardgame.

The blurb of the game reads: “Pay a visit to the charming and historic coastal town of Christchurch in this special edition of MONOPOLY.

“Explore some of Christchurch’s most beloved features, from Constable House to Place Mill, Christchurch Cricket Club and the bustling Christchurch Market.

“The utilities and modes of transport in the game feature local services, and many spaces are inspired by popular local businesses for an authentic and modern experience.”

Last week, the Echo revealed that the “trendiest” locations on the board as The Red House Museum and Gardens and The Old Town Hall, which will occupy the light blue section of the board.

Other destinations on the board include Christchurch Priory, Southbourne Beach, Christchurch Station and Christchurch Castle.

The game will also see the tokens specially customised to the seaside town, with an ice-cream cornet and an umbrella amongst the replacements for the classic tokens like the Scottie Dog and top hat counters included in the original MONOPOLY game.

Players can invest in beach huts and hotel and the Christchurch themed Community Chest and Chance cards which will fine players for getting stuck in traffic on the high street.

The boardgames will be priced at £34.99 but Bookends in Chriscthurch will be selling the game for a launch price of £29.99.

The MONOPOLY game will also be on the shelves at leading stores including Ryman, Waterstones and The Works, and will also be available to purchase online.
