RESIDENTS who may have witnessed a car speeding and overtaking dangerously on Portland Beach Road are asked to contact police.
Officers investigating reports of a dangerous driving incident on Portland are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
It was reported that at around 10.15pm yesterday a grey BMW car was seen driving at excessive speed and overtaking other vehicles in a dangerous manner heading north along Portland Beach Road, near to the Fine Foundation Chesil Beach Centre.
Sergeant Billy Taylor, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “We are making further enquiries into this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed a grey BMW driving at excessive speeds or in a dangerous manner in the area at the relevant time to please contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the vicinity and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to check their footage for anything relevant.”
