1. PLANET Rock Radio is bringing the fourth edition of their festival 'Winter's End' to Poole.

With over 25 bands performing over the course of the weekend at Sandford Holiday Park, you will be spoilt for musical choice at this rock and blues festival.

This weekend highlights great new and upcoming rock and blues bands, as well as some of those who paved the way in the music industry over the years.

The festival will be taking place from February 28 to March 1 and offers a variety of tickets, from individual days to full weekend.

Tickets start from £36.23 for a day ticket to a £129.38 weekend ticket.

Accommodation is not included in the ticket prices.

2. Leap Day, Saturday, February 29, brings renowned British-Irish comedian Jimmy Carr to the BIC stage.

The '8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown' presenter will be bringing his dark humour and distinctly recognisable laugh to audiences in Bournemouth, telling jokes about "all kinds of terrible things."

Carr will be performing from 8pm and tickets cost £33.75.

3. Enjoy a Swanage Pier History Walk on February 28 and follow in the footsteps of the Victorians in a stroll along the pier, an activity enjoyed by many generations.

Experience great views while learning about the history of the pier, as told by a volunteer.

The tour will start at the Swanage Pier gatehouse at 10:30am and will finish at 11:30am.

Normal admission applies to the pier.

4. Knoll Gardens are hosting a 'Bugs and Buds' class for enthusiastic, gardening youngsters on February 29.

Organised by the garden's charity - the Knoll Gardens Foundation - this monthly toddler club aims to inspire a love of nature from a young age.

This session will run from 10:30am to 12:00pm and costs £5.

5. An exhibition showcasing the work of two Dorset artists, Paul Lipscombe and Kevin Flynn, is taking place on 29 February at the Hatch Gallery in Christchurch.

'Landscapes: an Exploration' will showcase aspects of the New Forest and South Coast as never seen before.

The exciting exhibition includes photographs that capture some of the richly varied light and forms of the New Forest in winter, as well as oil and water-colour paintings focusing on the New Forest and striking areas of the local coastline.

This exhibition will be running from February 29 to March 12 from 10am to 4pm, and both artists will be regularly in attendance at the Gallery.

6. Amethyst Cave in Southbourne will be hosting a relaxing 75 minute Vinyasa flow class, involving long periods of relaxation and delicious warming cups of homemade chai tea.

The flow is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

This session will begin at 10am and finish at 11:30am.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, but there will be some available if not.

Comfy clothing is encouraged.

7. Metropolitan Opera's 'Agrippina' will be shown at the Regent Centre Christchurch on March 1.

Handel’s tale of intrigue and impropriety in ancient Rome stars Joyce DiDonato as the power-hungry Agrippina.

With a fantastic all-star cast, Sir David McVicar’s production fantastically reframes this black comedy about the abuse of power to the present.

8. Visit the Shelley Theatre on February 29 for their free Shelley Legacies Heritage Day.

The theatre will be investigating the legacies of the Shelley family in Bournemouth and Boscombe.

The Shelley Legacies Heritage Day will also comprise of a screened interview with Dr Stephen Hebron about the Shelley papers in the Bodleian Library and their connections to Boscombe.

There will also be a variety of other speakers providing an insight into the history of the Shelley family's history throughout the day, which include previously unpublished images and artefacts.

Not only that, visitors will also be able to get hands-on, transcribing copies of manuscripts relating to Percy Florence Shelley.

9. Enjoy the beautiful music of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on March 1 at Bournemouth Pavillion.

'Power and Passion', a concert featuring the works of Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Sibelius and Rimsky-Korsakov, celebrates music of all the featured musicians while highlighting their influences and differences as composers.

The concert will start at 3pm and finish at 5pm.

10. The Gallery Upstairs in Upton Country Park presents 'Personally Inspired'. an exhibition shown from February 27 to March 9.

The exhibition displays artworks by The Bournemouth Bay Art Group - a group of like-minded artists, who were students of Frances Shearing, a talented local artist and teacher.

The exhibition will be available to view from 10am to 4:30pm
