THE OFFICIAL Monopoly Christchurch Edition board game will hit shop shelves in time for this Easter.

The trendiest landmark in the game has also being announced as The Red House Museum and Gardens.

The Museum will get to land on the “very trendy” Angel, Islington space on the brand-new MONOPOLY: Folkestone Edition game and will appear next to The Old Town Hall on the light blue section of the board.

Afolabi Omotola, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK - who are producing this game under official license from the MONOPOLY brand, owned by Hasbro - said “well done to both the Museum and Old Town Hall.”

She added: “The Museum will feature on the very trendy Angel, Islington square from the game’s classic London original.

“Funnily enough when the London MONOPOLY was originally mapped out Angel, Islington was placed in a very moderate section of the board, in terms of pricing and ranking. But now, as everyone knows, Islington’s cachet is sky-high.

“This unique new and official version of the world’s most famous board game features the great and good of Christchurch. We have been wonderfully spoilt for choice putting the game together and would like to thank everyone who sent in suggestions last year when we went through a public consultation process.”

The Old Town Hall has also been confirmed as ‘Passing GO’. It will get to star on a space also in the blue section, just like the Museum.

The Angel, Islington – which appears in the light-blue section of the board – is considered the most fashionable location on any Monopoly board.

Christchurch and Dorset retailers are gearing up for the release of Christchurch’s new official Monopoly board, with Bookends in High Street confirmed as stockists for the March release.

Leading stores including Ryman, Waterstones and The Works are each tomorrow announcing they will be stocking the game.

As well as the edition being available at retail shops, it will also be available online, including on Amazon.
