BRIGHTLY coloured bins specially installed for recycling coffee cups can be spotted by shoppers at Oxford city centre's streets.
The newly-installed bins, wrapped with unique designs created by Oxford residents who won a city council competition, are specifically for people to recycle their single-use cups.
Part of the major eco scheme The Cup Fund – the UK’s largest grant fund to boost paper cup recycling – the new way to get rid of waste was introduced at Bonn Square by city councillor Tom Hayes and winner of the grant Bill Byfield from Oxford Direct Services.

Two winners of the local art project also attended the special unveil and posed with their artwork outside of Westgate centre.
A total of 19 winning drawings were displayed on the new bins in the city centre, Headington and Summertown.
Mr Hayes who was one of the judges at the 'A Cup of Inspiration' competition said: "It is brilliant that the recycling bins will be unmissable, all because they will showcase artwork from our community."
The bins are part of Oxford’s progress towards becoming a net-zero city by 2030.
