PERMISSION has been sought to turn an amusement arcade in Talacre into offices.

A planning application received by Flintshire Council proposes to change the use at Funland Amusement Arcade, based at Talacre Beach Resort in Station Road.

The scheme, submitted by the firm Darwin Escapes, also requests permission for "minor physical alterations" at the site.

A design and access statement submitted with the plans explains: "The site itself is currently occupied by Funland Amusement Arcade previously operated by Thompson’s Amusements and Caravans.

"The unit is now vacant following the closure of the business.

"However, a number of arcade related games and amusements are still located within the unit, whilst there is a toilet, kitchen, office and storerooms located at the rear of the unit.

"All infrastructure associated with the former Amusement Arcade will be removed from site and the unit occupied by Darwin Escapes as an ancillary office space associated with the wider Darwin Escapes Talacre Beach Resort site.

"The proposals seek to reduce the scale of the existing building through the demolition of the existing shuttered construction at the front of the unit."

The documents concludes the scheme "will ensure the functional use of an existing building as an office, which will support the continued growth of Darwin Escapes and the Talacre Beach Resort."
