IT has been a busy weekend for police in Bradford.

Officers have faced everything from seizing cars and providing vital first aid after a crash to finding a high-risk missing person and arresting someone with a knife.

Sadly, it also included one Special Constable being on the receiving end of "horrific racial abuse" from a suspect.

Here's a round-up of the various incidents they attended:

In Shipley, a BMW was seized as the driver was disqualified and had no insurance.

Off-duty SC Andy Irvin was praised after helping out at a serious crash.

The driver was unconscious and initially breathing, but then started to go purple.

He provided first aid to ensure there was a clear airway until help arrived.

SC Kovrlija found a high-risk missing person after an hour of searching. She had used the 'what3words' app.

West Yorkshire emergency services are using the app to help save vital time in locating people in emergency situations.

Members of the public can download the free app to give their location in case of a medical emergency.

The technology can accurately locate a patient’s whereabouts, which can help the charity to deliver potentially life-saving treatment faster when locations are hard to describe.

Using the app, emergency call staff can precisely indicate where a patient is if they are in a remote area or somewhere with no obvious address or landmarks.

Two other SCs also managed to detain a person "after they made the poor choice of stealing a car, failing to stop, crashing and running away".

There was also another stolen vehicle and an uninsured driver with no licence...

Bradford Special Constabulary also revealed that officers had driven past a fight and a foot chase followed.

Two people were arrested - one who was in possession of a knife.

Unfortunately, the team revealed one SC suffered some "horrific racial abuse".

"Absolutely disgusting behaviour," they wrote on Twitter.

"Thank you to the custody team for supporting the officer on arrival into custody, where the abuse continued."
