A STRING of top wrestling stars from home and abroad will be in the ring at Bournemouth Pavilion tomorrow.

Now in its 50th year, All Star wrestling returns to the Pavilion Ballroom with a big bill on Friday, February 21.

Among the stars in the line-up are America’s legendary ‘Vampire Warrior’ Gangrel.

Topping a five bout line-up starting at 7.30pm will be an international heavyweight clash with Superslam Championship holder Oliver Grey facing sabre toothed globetrotter Gangrel, who first made his name with WWF and then its current successor WWE and, world-wide, remains one of wrestling’s top box office attractions.

Six-foot tall Gangrel weighs in at 240 pounds and was originally trained in Florida by Dean Malenko and since a debut in 1998 has repeatedly toured the world and was inducted into the ‘Legends of Wrestling’ Hall of Fame during 2010. Devon-born Grey, now into a second year as champion, is determined to hang on to the prestigious belt and has recently returned for a fourth tour to Japan inside the past 12 months.

To celebrate the half century a new ‘People’s Champion’ title has been introduced by All Star with Niwa, the Maori Warrior from New Zealand, controversially emerging as the winner of a knockout event to decide the first holder but only on a casting vote by referee Phil Powers. Now the long haired Niwa will need to produce something special to come out on top in a battle with one of Britain’s very best, South London-born favourite James Mason who first stepped into the ring as a 16 year-old during the 1980s.

Mixed tag team action will also be featured with the ‘Chelsea Connection’ consisting of stunning newcomer Mariah May, who has made great progress since first stepping into the wrestling ring back at the beginning of 2018, and livewire partner Danny Duggan facing the Italian Stallion and his explosive partner Miss Monica Passeri. Other contests include another international clash with Nice-based French threat Thomas LaRuffa facing Mexican-style luchador the Red Scorpion who is impressing on his first British tour.
