THERE are long delays on the motorways this evening, Wednesday, after a jackknifed lorry closed the M62 slip road to the M60.

It happened around 12pm at junction 12 for Eccles and there are still eight-mile queues on the eastbound carriageway.

A lorry lost control, collided into the barrier and there is a now a large diesel spill and debris on the road.

Nobody was seriously hurt and the driver had minor injuries according to police.

The eastbound slip road onto the M60 clockwise is closed.

There are also several broken down vehicles in live lanes on this eastbound carriageway which is not helping traffic.

Traffic is being forced to go anticlockwise on the M60.
