AN APPRENTICE at a country park discovered a Portuguese Man o’ War while litter picking at Hengistbury Head.

Rebekah Bisset, 30, is an apprentice at Avon Heath Country Park, and said she often litter picks on the beach.

Ms Bisset said: “It was just as you go up to the head, just past the visitor centre. I have not seen a Man o’ War there before, I have seen them in Australia, it’s a bit unusual.

“The storm brought it in. With the climate change it will be more common to see these creatures, they’re normally found in warmer waters.”

Man o’ Wars have tentacles with a sting venomous enough to kill humans.
