ROBBERS who launched a brutal attack on a man in Boscombe earlier this week left their victim with a broken leg, police say.

Officers are calling for information after an incident in Grosvenor Gardens at 5.30pm on Thursday, February 13.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was walking towards Walpole Road when he was approached by two men. The men knocked him to the ground and punched him in his head and on his body before stealing cash.

The assault was so vicious the victim's leg was broken. He remains in hospital awaiting surgery.

Police searching for the two men say the first is described as white, aged in his 40s, with black hair, a black beard and moustache. He spoke with an Irish accent and was wearing a black jacket.

The second man is described as white, aged in his 30s, with short black hair and slight stubble. He was also wearing a black jacket.

Detective Sergeant Leo Glendon, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack that left the victim with a significant injury to his leg and we are determined to identify the men responsible."
