AN ELDERLY woman injured in the crash with a BMW on Charminster Road on Wednesday is said to no longer be fighting for her life.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Her injuries are no longer believed to life-threatening.”
The woman, aged in her 90s and from New Milton, was airlifted to hospital after the collision with a blue BMW 318.
She had been a passenger in a blue Vauxhall Astra and had got out the vehicle shortly before the incident.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service freed the pensioner from under a car and she was then airlifted to Southampton Hospital.
The driver of the BMW, a Bournemouth man aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and released under investigation as enquiries continue.
