TWO men have been charged in connection with an alleged serious assault in Poole.

It is alleged that a man sustained a stab wound during an altercation at Sainsbury's in Pitwines Close on Monday afternoon.

As reported, a man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment. He remains in intensive care in hospital and his condition is described as serious but no longer life-threatening.

Following police enquiries by detectives, two men, aged 21 and 22 and both of now fixed abode, were arrested.

They have both been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and other offences and are due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 14.

A 20-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remains released under investigation.

Detectives Sergeant Garry Knight, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident and we would like to thank members of the public who have provided information so far.

“We would repeat our plea for anyone with information who has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.”
