COASTGUARD volunteers joined the police officers and the NPAS helicopter in searches for a missing person along Bournemouth seafront.
Dorset Police called the National Maritime Operations Centre shortly after 11pm on Saturday.
Volunteers from Southbourne and Poole Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent to search areas along the beach, promenade and cliff tops.
Police officers looked in Bournemouth Gardens and roads, while the police helicopter searched over cliffs and wooded areas.
As plans were being made to extend the search to a wider area and request Dorset Search and Rescue, it was confirmed that the person had been located safe and well.
