POLICE investigating theft and bilking offences in Poole have made a second arrest.

It follows the theft of a black Ford Galaxy from a home in Ashley Road at around 5.45am on Sunday January 5.

The vehicle was then involved in a bilking incident, driving off without paying for fuel at the Esso Highland Service Station in Ashley Road at around 4.30am on Thursday January 9.

The occupants of the vehicle were also allegedly involved in a shoplifting offence at Asda Canford Heath at around 9.15am on Thursday 9 January 2020.

The car was located in the area of Grove Road in Bournemouth shortly before 11am on Thursday 9 January 2020 and was recovered.

A 22-year-old Poole man was previously arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a shop, making off without payment and driving offences. He was released under investigation.

Following further enquiries by officers, an 18-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a shop, making off without payment and driving offences and has been released under investigation.
