IT'S been a week full of business news involving some of Dorset's most famous names. Here's a round-up of the top stories.
1. The Wimborne-based aerospace giant Cobham made redundancies, just days after its £4billion takeover by an American private equity firm was officially completed.
2. The biggest player in the retirement housebuilding market – Bournemouth-based McCarthy & Stone – revealed a dip in profits. It spent £4million making people redundant as it sought to "right-size" the business.
3. Amigo, the Bournemouth company which lends at 49.9 per cent APR to people with a poor credit history, is up for sale. It's been coming under squeeze from the regulator.
4. A company which previously had a base in Bournemouth Square says the "challenging environment" of the town centre was a factor in its move back to Poole.
5. And school dinners are getting more environmentally friendly, thanks to a Bournemouth company that offers them in reusable containers rather than foil trays.
