A MAN had his wallet stolen from the swimming pool changing room at a Bournemouth hotel after a man helped him set a digital code for a locker.

The victim entered the changing rooms at the West Cliff Hotel in Durley Chine Road and saw a man putting on his clothes.

This man then helped him set a digital code on the locker as he was having trouble. The victim put his clothes in the locker and left the changing room.

When the victim checked on his locker, he was unable to open it as the code had been changed. After staff assisted the victim, he discovered his jeans containing his wallet were missing.

Police said bank cards in the victim's wallet were used for fraudulently in transactions at several shops.

The theft took place at around 12.15pm on Wednesday, December 4.

Officers investigating the incident are asking for anyone with information to come forward – with CCTV images being issued.

Sergeant Steve Boston, of Dorset Police, said: “The victim’s wallet contained a number of bank cards, which were subsequently used fraudulently in transactions at a number of shops.

“Following an investigation into the incident I am now in a position to issue CCTV images of a man I would like to speak to.

“I am appealing for anyone who recognises the man pictured to contact police.”
