A BOURNEMOUTH man will face a trial after denying controlling his partner.
Thomas Gargett, of Holdenhurst Road, is charged with two counts of assaulting a woman by beating her and one of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
Prosecutors allege he controlled access to the complainant's finances. It is also alleged that he controlled how much time she spent with her family.
The defendant, 24, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on January 20. He pleaded not guilty to the three offences and a trial is set to take place at the court later this year.
