A HIGH street store that has now closed in Poole was seen selling greeting cards for four pence.

The time came for value store This Is It to be faced with its last day on Sunday before closing for business, when shoppers were treated to 90 per cent off all items.

This included cards as cheap as four pence and a wooden table available for five pounds.

On its final closing day, a number of people browsing in store shared their disappointment over the store's closure.

One shopper said: "I'm definitely upset. It is a bit of a shock really."

Another said that "everywhere is closing" and that they are "now getting used to it", while another customer listed the closure as a "real shame".

As previously reported by the Bournemouth Echo, the general purpose retailer, which took over the former Woolworths store site in 2010, has become the latest Poole High Street shop to close for business.

The closure of the store is believed to have led to a loss of around 20 full and part time jobs.

Since then, a number of outlets have followed across the south west, before their online store was launched in 2010.

The Poole store was the company's only one in Dorset.

Staff at the store did not wish to comment.
